Holsworthy - RAAF Army Base
Military Refuelling Canopy Installation
Hard Bakka Rigging was entrusted with the steel erection and rigging of a military-grade refuelling shelter at the RAAF Holsworthy Barracks in South-Western Sydney. This specialised project involved installing a structural steel canopy, designed to cover and protect the base’s refuelling operations—a mission-critical function for military logistics.
Our experienced crew of five certified riggers completed the steel structure installation in under two weeks, showcasing precision, planning, and coordination on a high-security defence site. Given the strategic importance of the facility, the project required compliance with strict military protocols, security clearances, and adherence to Defence safety standards.
To execute the project efficiently, we utilised mobile cranes, EWPs (Elevated Work Platforms), and a comprehensive lift plan tailored for high-clearance work. The canopy structure was engineered to withstand the demanding operational environment, providing robust shelter from the elements for personnel and vehicles during fuel transfer procedures.
Despite the logistical challenges of operating in a live defence facility, our team completed the project safely, on time, and within budget. The site reported zero incidents, thanks to our rigorous safety systems and close collaboration with base management and contractors.
This project highlights Hard Bakka Rigging’s capability to deliver high-stakes rigging services for government and defence infrastructure. From planning to execution, we ensured every lift was executed with precision, safety, and absolute reliability.
The Holsworthy RAAF canopy installation is a proud addition to our growing portfolio of government and infrastructure projects, reaffirming our position as a trusted rigging partner for mission-critical builds across New South Wales.
