Kogarah Primary School - Primary School Playground Shelter

Playground Shelter Installation for Outdoor Learning & Play

Hard Bakka Rigging was proud to deliver the steel rigging services for the new playground shelter at Kogarah Primary School in southern Sydney. This purpose-built structure was designed to provide all-weather protection for students during outdoor play and learning activities. The project was part of a broader initiative to enhance public school infrastructure with modern, durable, and safe facilities.

Our team was responsible for the complete steel erection and rigging scope, including the delivery, cranage, and installation of prefabricated steel components. The shelter’s structural design featured wide-span steel beams, support columns, and integrated roof framing—all installed with precision using mobile cranes and EWPs.

Safety was paramount throughout this project. Working within an active school environment required strict compliance with Department of Education protocols, including restricted access zones, quiet-time coordination, and detailed lift planning. We’re pleased to report that the job was delivered incident-free and ahead of schedule.

The playground shelter is not only functional—it also enhances the aesthetic and practical use of the school’s outdoor space. It allows students to engage in recess, physical education, and outdoor classes regardless of weather conditions, supporting student wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Key achievements of the project include:

  1. Zero site safety incidents
  2. Rapid delivery and installation timeframe
  3. Full compliance with public school safety standards
  4. Collaborative coordination with site supervisors and school staff

This project showcases Hard Bakka Rigging’s ongoing commitment to education infrastructure and our ability to deliver high-quality rigging services in sensitive environments. Whether it’s a school shelter, COLA, or gym structure, we bring experience, precision, and a safety-first mindset to every site.
