Project Overview
Hard Bakka Rigging was engaged to deliver the structural steel erection for a Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) at Strathfield High School, providing students with year-round access to a sheltered basketball court. The structure was designed to meet both functional and architectural standards while ensuring long-term durability and compliance with educational infrastructure guidelines.

Our team of experienced riggers installed the shelter’s steel columns, trusses, and roofing components with precision, completing the build on time and within budget. The project was carried out in an active school environment, requiring careful planning and stringent safety protocols. All riggers on site held valid Working with Children Checks and underwent drug testing, ensuring full compliance with Department of Education regulations for working near students.

High Standards of Safety and Compliance
Safety and operational control were prioritised throughout the project. Our crew adhered to all WHS procedures and maintained daily toolbox talks. The use of a 30T crane and elevated work platforms allowed for efficient yet safe lifting and positioning of steel components.

Despite the constraints of working within school grounds, including limited access times and noise restrictions, our team delivered the project without any recorded incidents. Coordination with school management ensured that student safety and site cleanliness were maintained throughout.
