Project Overview

Hard Bakka Rigging was contracted to assist with the structural steel erection for upgraded carpark facilities across three Western Sydney University campuses. This project aimed to expand and modernise parking infrastructure to accommodate increased student and staff capacity, while improving safety and accessibility standards across the campuses.

Each site required a tailored approach due to differing layouts, pedestrian flow considerations, and ongoing university operations. The scope included steel-framed carpark extensions, roof structures, and supporting access infrastructure—all delivered in tight timeframes during active semesters.

Multi-Campus Execution

Our crew worked across three campuses simultaneously, coordinating with multiple construction teams to ensure deadlines were met without compromising safety or quality. The carparks were constructed using pre-fabricated steel components that required precise rigging and alignment, as well as efficient sequencing to avoid congestion in busy university areas.

Despite challenges posed by variable site conditions and strict access limitations, our team completed each steel structure on time and on budget. The use of a 30T crane, boom lifts, and telehandlers enabled seamless lifting and placement of heavy steel beams and roof structures.

Safety and Compliance

Operating within live university environments required stringent safety procedures. Our team underwent Working With Children Checks and followed campus-specific safety protocols to mitigate risk to students and staff. Comprehensive site inductions, SWMS documentation, and real-time communication with stakeholders ensured smooth operations across all three sites.
