Annandale - Public walkway, access from main street to rear ally way

Public Walkway Installation – Connecting Main Street to Rear Laneway

Hard Bakka Rigging was contracted to install a steel-framed pedestrian walkway in the heart of Annandale, NSW. This access structure connects the main commercial street to a rear laneway, improving foot traffic flow and providing safe passage for pedestrians navigating between businesses, residences, and parking areas.

The project involved the erection of a custom-engineered steel walkway structure designed to suit the tight, urban footprint. Our rigging crew installed the prefabricated steel beams, columns, and balustrades with millimetre precision, using compact cranes and EWP equipment to manage access restrictions on the narrow site.

This job presented unique challenges typical of public infrastructure works in inner-city environments: tight working conditions, restricted access for lifting equipment, and a need for strict pedestrian and traffic management. Hard Bakka Rigging worked closely with the client and local council to ensure the works were delivered safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to local businesses and pedestrians.

The finished walkway now serves as a permanent, safe connection between Annandale’s busy main street and its surrounding laneway network. Built to Australian standards and council specifications, the structure enhances accessibility and improves overall urban mobility in the area.

Public infrastructure projects like this demonstrate Hard Bakka Rigging’s ability to deliver smart rigging solutions in complex, space-restricted environments. Whether it’s a pedestrian bridge, public canopy, or urban access structure, our team combines technical skill with proactive coordination to deliver quality outcomes on time and within scope.
