Ambarvale – High School COLA for Basketball Courts

Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) – Basketball Court Shelter Construction

Hard Bakka Rigging was contracted to supply and install a custom-designed Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) structure at a high school in Ambarvale. The structure was purpose-built to cover full-size basketball courts, providing weather protection and a safer environment for physical education and extracurricular sports activities.

Our team managed the structural steel installation, which included lifting and securing large-span roof beams and purlins using mobile cranes and elevated work platforms (EWPs). The steel rigging process was executed with precision to ensure perfect alignment, stability, and long-term durability.

Working within an active school environment, we carefully scheduled our work to minimise disruptions and maintain the highest safety standards. The project was delivered on time and to specification, demonstrating our expertise in educational infrastructure projects across NSW.

This installation is part of a growing portfolio of school COLA shelters by Hard Bakka Rigging, supporting the NSW Government’s commitment to improving outdoor learning spaces.
